Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently competing within the UFC flyweight division. She is the older sister of fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began as a Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller in a unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko took home a second medal in 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008 and a gold in the year 2011, and won the IFMA Amateur World MuayThai Champion in 2016. Antonia was a professional who started her professional career in 2003, was crowned in 2012 and 2016 the World Lion Fight Lightweight Champion. The WMC World Championships were also held in 2016 and she won the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was a unanimity. Antonina Schevchenko set her professional MMA records in 2002 when she faced Anara Bazanova during the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan. She won this fight with a TKO after round 2 and the two subsequent matches were held during the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko took a hiatus to focus on the sport of kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko beat Anissa with a unanimous win. She went on to beat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. After leaving the league in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her impressive striking ability in the final clinch through knees to the body. Following this victory Antonina was offered a UFC contract. Antonina Shychenko debuted in the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but she lost her second fight to Roxanne Modafferi via a split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the defeat by beating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the bonus of a fight-of-the night. Shevchenko went 2-2 in the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski and lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee.
